Makeup Fundamentals Stage 1

Course Objective:

This course is designed to educate the student on the fundamentals of makeup artistry. The student will acquire the skills to apply daytime and evening makeup as well as current fashion trends. Students will also be introduced to various application techniques and basic blow outs and curling techniques.

Upon completion of the course the student will be competent in the following areas:MG 3150 MAKEUP STAGE 1

  1. Discover various makeup products, materials, tools and professional equipment usedin the industry.
  2. Be able to identify and analysis bone structure and face shapes.
  3. Understand the importance of skin care and makeup preparation by selecting propercleansers, toners, and moisturizers.
  4. Understand cosmetic colour theory, seasons, and tonality.
  5. Understand the purpose, selection, and application of foundation, corrective makeup,concealer, and powder to suit individual client needs.
  6. Analyze eye shapes and lip shapes correctly and learn how to  apply makeup for correction.
  7. Select appropriate colours for eyes, lips, and cheeks using various techniques.
  8. Bridal Makeup
  9. Makeup for mature clients.
  10. Demonstrate eyebrow shaping and artificial lash application and removal.
  11. Understand and demonstrate the sequence of basic makeup application for daytime and evening makeup, classic looks, natural styles, and fashion looks with a smoky eye.
  12. Demonstrate  various blow out, curling, and straightening techniques.
  13. Understanding the importance of sanitation and hygiene procedures.

Must complete course with 80 hours and have a minimum of 76% to obtain a certificate in  Makeup Fundamentals Stage 1. This is a pre-requisite for Photography/High Fashion Makeup Stage 2.
